DAY 6–FIFTH FULL SEA DAY

Welcome to Day 6, our fifth consecutive sea day.  It is still raining.  That is still no problem.  Plenty of things to do. Now, we generally take a casual approach, hanging out and meeting new people.  But if that isn’t your style, there are tons of activities to join.  For example, today there were trivia contests, cornhole competition, a ping pong tournament, guest lectures, adult coloring, bingo, exercise classes, origami folding, beginners bridge lessons, mixology classes, Mahjong, High Tea, whiskey tasting, and of course, the casino.  No reason to be bored on sea days.

We ate breakfast, found a nice table next to the pool (there is a sliding dome that covers this area when it rains) and read.  Met a nice couple from Arizona, swapped some stories, grabbed some pizza for a late lunch and then headed to the cabin to dress for “dressy night”.  A photo of Melissa in her dressy attire is below.

Once we had our dressier threads on, we headed to happy hour with our happy hour friends, Peter and Debbie & Dave and Shari.  A couple of cocktails later, the six of us headed to dinner.  We swapped stories about how we met our spouses and then Peter told us a story about how he and Prince Charles once swapped stories about how they had to “spin” their stories to their mothers about how they met their significant other.  For those of you who may be a little slow (like me), Prince Charles’ mother is the Queen of England!

Melissa and I then headed to BB Kings and danced the night away and eventually, Peter and Debbie joined us there.  Photos below.

We lose another hour this evening and are only one more sea day away from Ponta Delgada.  While we love our sea days, it will be nice to be on land again.
