Let’s Get This Party Started

Welcome to the inaugural blog post of our new blog, Don and Melissa’s Travelholics.  Who the heck are we?  We are a fun loving, empty nested, Florida couple who have decided it is time to see the world. We would love to share our travels with you. 

First up, a transatlantic cruise on Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam.  We will be traveling from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Barcelona, Spain.  The journey across the Atlantic will take 14 days and we will stay in Barcelona for a few more days, just because.

Our journey starts in just a few weeks, so until then, our posts will center around getting ready for the big trip.  We did a transatlantic from Rome to Tampa last year. By the end of the year we will have 25 cruises under out belts.  We will share what we have learned on prior trips and what we learn on this one.  Sometimes we come across some real bargains, and sometimes we splurge a little.  We hope you decide to take this journey with us (virtually) and maybe someday join us in person!
